Animal and Rangeland Sciences Department Head

The Department of Animal and Rangeland Sciences (AnRS) at Oregon State University invites applicants for a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, fixed-term faculty department head position. This appointment includes indefinite tenure on a 9-month basis at 1.00 FTE at the rank of associate professor or professor. The department head provides administrative, management, and scientific leadership for AnRS including the development of priorities and a strategic plan, and articulates a shared vision for AnRS involving a diverse group of faculty, staff, students, and stakeholders in industry groups, public agencies, community groups, and private organizations. The incumbent must have a record of and commitment to supporting diversity, equity and inclusion. The incumbent will promote collaboration among on- and off-campus faculty, across departments, colleges, branch stations, state and federal agencies, and industries. The department head will establish and maintain strong ties with stakeholders and will be a recognized national and international leader in animal science, rangeland science, or a closely allied field. The department head oversees one of the largest departments within the College of Agricultural Sciences, comprising over 50 faculty and staff, more than 400 students in addition to farm facilities, and 3000 acres dedicated to animal research and teaching activities.
