Job Details

The Publishing Specialist will support Elanco R&D operations by providing high quality document publishing and submission activities to support our internal and external customers. This individual will provide subject matter expertise and organizational leadership in regards to all publishing activities and will have knowledge and expertise in software packages utilized to prepare documents for submission to various regulatory agencies around the world.

In this position you will:
  • Organize, compile and publish documents and submissions in support of Regulatory deliverables.
  • Understand the details of the global publishing process and the interdependencies of systems and tools to support the process, with an emphasis on European submissions.
  • Support regulatory submissions, including the organization of documents and data that comprise a submission.
  • Understand and use electronic publishing terminology as it applies to applicable regulatory agencies.
  • Collaborate and communicate with other submission publishers and technical experts to ensure standard practices and quality submissions.
  • Support the document management process and have a thorough understanding of document management tools.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree (Library Science, Information Science or like degrees preferred)

Additional Skills/Preferences

Technical Responsibilities
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in creating and maintaining virtual document, integrating .TIF images, hyperlinking, bookmarking, and full text indexing.
  • High end-use computer skills, i.e., desktop publishing, graphics, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and Toolbox.
  • Expertise in the creation of MS Word templates, styles, and forms.
  • Cross-functional coordination with quality/regulatory affairs and scientific leaders to ensure high quality submission preparation.
  • Anticipate and resolve publishing issues across the organization, proactively lead cross-functional/geographic process improvements. Navigate issues where there are no existing or documented processes.

Additional Preferences:
  • Experience publishing documents and compiling submissions for EU dossiers
  • Publishing experience in animal health R&D (CVM, CVB, and/or EMA)
  • Understanding of eCTD
  • Experience publishing in VNeeS format
