Postdoctoral Fellow in Cancer and Stroke
Postdoctoral position available immediately to work on NIH- and AHA-funded research projects in the fields of cancer cell signaling and stroke.
Our laboratory is involved in studies seeking to understand how protein kinase signaling is regulated in normal and diseased states and how they impact disease progression in cancer and ischemic stroke. A major research focus is the molecular mechanisms underlying the regulation of protein kinases at transcriptional and post-transcriptional levels, with particular emphasis on structural and enzymatic regulation, transcriptional control through lncRNA, and functional evaluation using mouse models of cancer and stroke, and development of protein kinase-targeted small molecule therapeutics for these diseases.
Qualifications: Recent Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. in a relevant field. Expertise in molecular biology, cancer/neuronal cell signaling, lncRNA research, and protein biochemistry are highly desirable. Knowledge and experience with rodent models of cancer or cerebral ischemia are preferred. Candidates must also demonstrate excellent writing and interpersonal skills, and are highly motivated and able to work both independently and in a team environment. If interested, please send your curriculum vitae, a personal statement describing specific interest in this position and the research project, career goals, and contact info for three referees to Qiming J. Wang, Ph.D. at qjw1@pitt.edu.
