Scientific and Technical Advisory Panel to the Global Environment Facility: Climate Adaptation

The mission of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) is to safeguard the global environment by supporting developing countries meet their commitments under a number of multilateral environmental agreements, including on biodiversity, desertification, climate change, and chemicals: the GEF invests about $1 billion a year.

The Scientific and Technical Advisory Panel (STAP) provides independent scientific and technical advice to the GEF on its policies, strategies, programs, and projects.

STAP is seeking a Climate Adaptation Panel Member: with outstanding academic and technical credentials; a passion for tackling global environmental and sustainable development challenges; expertise in climate adaptation; the ability to work in an interdisciplinary, integrated manner; and able to bridge scientific, technological, economic, social, and policy issues.

Panel Members are expected to work 60 days a year. Contracts are for two years, and may be renewed for a further two years.
