The Role:

The Investigational Medicines Office at Moderna is responsible for leadership and management of the clinical-stage programs from IND to licensure. Moderna is seeking a motivated and energetic Sr. Manager/Associate Director to support portfolio management of the development pipeline. In this role, the successful candidate will work with each of the development program leaders to assist in refining program strategy. In addition, the successful candidate will support the program leaders and the strategy group to refine the target product profile and commercial assessment for development programs. The candidate will be responsible for leading the biannual portfolio review business process within the company in coordination with the program leaders and the executive committee of the company. The candidate will also be responsible for supporting the long-range planning business process by articulating the development portfolio strategy and the clinical development function strategy. In coordination with the program management function, the candidate will also support the management of the DRC and governance for clinical programs.

Here's What You'll Do:
  • Lead the biannual portfolio review business process by collaborating with program leaders, heads of clinical development, CMC, and the executive committee of the company
  • Develop a perspective of risks and trade-offs at the portfolio level for the clinical development portfolio and
  • Track the clinical program readouts that impact the program strategy and also provide insight on the platform
  • Collaborating with the program leader to articulate the strategy of the clinical program
  • Working with the program leader and the strategy group to refine the target product profile and the commercial assessment of late-stage clinical programs
  • Supporting the long-range planning business process led by the strategy group by articulating the clinical development strategy and development portfolio strategy; coordinate with the CMO, heads of clinical development, program leaders, corporate strategy group, and executive committee members to create alignment
  • Working with the Finance group to assess spend by stage-gates for clinical programs and impact to portfolio over 1-2 year horizon and through licensure
  • Coordinate with the program management function to manage the development review committee and clinical program governance


Here's What You'll Bring to the Table:
  • BS degree in a scientific field with 5-7 years of experience or MS degree in a scientific field with 3-5 years of experience in a pharmaceutical consulting setting or corporate development in late-stage biotechnology company
  • Experience in early and late-stage drug development
  • Experience in developing target product profiles, health economic assessments, and commercial assessments of assets
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to articulate complex situations in a succinct manner
  • Proven track record of successful project management
  • Prior experience managing or working within cross-functional teams with timeline management
  • Must be adept at working in a fluid environment and foster a strong collaborative spirit internally and externally.
  • Preferred: PhD and 2+ years of experience in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical setting
