Postdoctoral fellow
2-3 year postdoctoral position available in RNA biology. Our lab studies the mechanism of mRNA turnover in prokaryotes. The NIH-funded project involves isolation of transcriptomic RNA from bacterial ribonuclease and helicase mutant strains, preparing the RNA for RNA-Seq mapping of 3’ ends of mRNA decay intermediates, and bioinformatic analysis of the effect of ribonuclease and/or helicase deficiencies on 3’-end formation.
Candidates should have solid experience in molecular biology and in working with bioinformatics data.
