Columbia University Nevis Labs, Radiological Research Accelerator Facility (RARAF)

Postdoctoral research position is available immediately for a highly motivated candidate to help develop a research platform for studying the mechanisms underlying the success of carbon-ion radiotherapy and optimizing the anti-tumor response. The project is part of a collaborative program developing accelerator-based heavy ion irradiation capabilities with integrated cutting-edge imaging (SCAPE microscopy).

The laboratory is part of the Center for Radiological Research (crr.columbia.edu) in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Columbia University. The position will be based at our Radiation Research Accelerator Facility (www.raraf.org/) located just outside New York City in Westchester County.

Successful candidates must have experience in cellular and molecular biology, especially 2D and 3D cell culture, as well as excellent communication skills, and a high level of proficiency in radiation biology, immunohistochemistry, and/or ELISA. Later stages of the project will also involve working with tumor models in mice.

Ph.D. degree in chemistry, biology, physics or related science or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
