Assistant Professor Tenure-Track in Biomedical Sciences, emphasis Bioinformatics

The Butler University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences seeks a collegial, dynamic applicant with strong teaching and research interests for a 12-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. 

Applicants must possess a doctoral degree (PharmD or Ph.D.) in biomedical sciences, have postdoctoral research experience, and be actively engaged in research broadly related to pharmaceutical sciences. The department strives to educate next generation pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists knowledgeable in data analytics who are contributors to and leaders in the field of precision medicine. The department seeks innovative research that integrates life sciences and data sciences, and preference will be given to candidates with a strong background in pharmacogenomics, bioinformatics, data mining, systems biology, or medical informatics.

Applicants must have a strong desire to teach and conduct research with students in the Doctor of Pharmacy and MS in Pharmaceutical Science degree programs. The candidate is expected to participate/lead the development of introductory course(s) related to bioinformatics and data mining. Ideal candidates would have teaching experience, and be willing to collaborate with other faculty throughout the institution and the Indianapolis area. Current faculty members have research interest in biochemistry and molecular biology, microbiology, cancer, neuropharmacology, nanomedicine and pharmaceutics (https://www.butler.edu/cophs/pharmaceutical-sciences-faculty).
