The Department of Biological Science at Florida State University invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure-track Teaching Faculty position to begin January 2020. The position requires either a Ph.D. in the biological sciences or a master’s degree in biological sciences and a Ph.D. in science education. A demonstrated interest in teaching at the undergraduate level as well as experience with current scientific teaching approaches is required. The successful candidate will teach the second semester of general biology for majors (ecology, evolution, development, and genetics) in a large-lecture format to a diverse student population, and potentially an upper-division course in the applicant's area of expertise. Participation in departmental activities and opportunities to further instructional expertise and professional development is also expected. This position is annually renewable, dependent on performance. Salary and benefits will be commensurate with professional experience and other qualifications.

We seek a creative individual with excellent interpersonal, written, and public speaking skills who can work independently and as part of a team. The applicant should be highly motivated to instruct, inspire, and mentor biology students early in their university experience.
