Postdoctoral
position in Mucosal Immunology and Autoimmunity

Mentor: Dr. Chenthamarakshan Vasu
Position available to study the role of gut mucosa-microbiota interaction in the context of autoimmunity including lupus and type 1 diabetes. Project involves studies using human samples and rodent models to understand the impacts of innate immune-receptor and dietary-factor interactions with gut microbiota on immune regulation, inflammation and autoimmune onset, and therapeutic manipulation of these interactions. Studies will involve use of conventional and high-throughput metagenomics, proteomics and metabolomics using samples from human subjects, and development and use of genetically modified and germ-free murine models.
Candidates must hold a doctoral degree or equivalent and be a U.S resident. Candidates should have previous experience in working with mouse models, and a background in mucosal immunology, autoimmunity and/or inflammation..
