The Role:

Moderna is seeking a Metrology Supervisor for a position supporting cGMP manufacturing. Ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of GMPs and experience providing metrology support/oversight in pharmaceutical/biotech facilities. This individual will be responsible for managing calibrations in our cGMP manufacturing facility. Individual is expected to perform job functions and responsibilities independently and with limited direction.

Here's What You'll Bring to the Table:
  • Management and oversight of calibration contract service providers
  • Scheduling of calibration and maintenance activities through coordination with end user groups
  • Execution of work orders using the computerized maintenance management system
  • Identify and remove single points of failure for calibration activities
  • Lead process and equipment troubleshooting to support deviations, corrective actions and related issues.
  • Develop and revise Metrology Procedures
  • Act as Metrology subject matter expert for change management assessments, deviation and CAPA management
  • Generate and provide quality metrics for site and department
  • Participate in internal and external audits
  • Implement reliability centered calibration program for assets under their responsibility, make calibration budget and spares recommendations
  • Ensure equipment remains in operational state and minimize downtime for calibration/repair
  • Coordinate specification, fabrication, procurement, installation, engineering start-up and validation activities of new equipment and systems
  • Provide training and guidance for calibration and operation of systems
  • Perform all job duties and responsibilities in a compliant and ethical manner and in accordance with all applicable healthcare laws, regulations and industry codes.


Here's What You'll Do:
  • Bachelor's degree in science or engineering or related field
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in a biotech or pharmaceutical company; 1+ years in a supervisory role
  • Experience in design and specification requirements of pilot and commercial scale equipment for pharmaceutical manufacturing
  • Knowledge and experience with the FDA requirements for clinical and commercial products
  • Understanding of process controls and equipment automation
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced manufacturing environment
