Job Details

We are looking for a highly motivated Biologist with a diversified background in in vitro biology to join our discovery research team within the Biotherapeutic Lead Generation group. We need a candidate who combines a passion to explore novel biology with a rationale based and hypothesis driven scientific approach.

You will join a highly interactive, collaborative, and innovative scientific team to discover and advance large molecule drugs to combat diseases in the diabetes, oncology, neurodegenerative and auto-immune areas. You will design and execute in vitro cell based and biochemical assays to quantitate the activity of novel therapeutic proteins and antibodies. Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in biochemistry, Immunology, molecular/cell biology, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years working in a research laboratory
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position

Additional Skills/Preferences

  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Knowledge and experience in large molecule platforms for early phase drug discovery.
  • Self management, task planning and organization.
  • Ability to work productively and to foster collaborations in an interdisciplinary team environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years of pharmaceutical industry experience or MS degree in immunology or molecular/cell biology is preferred
  • Biology experience including, but not limited to, the following: mammalian cell culture techniques and cell assay development for supporting novel target validation and therapeutic antibody screening and characterization
  • ELISAs, luciferase reporter assays, western blots, TaqMan and animal tissue handling
  • Flow cytometry, transient and stable cell line generation
  • Proficient in human primary immune cell assays. Familiarity with PMBC isolation and pDC assays are preferred.
  • Experience with automation of cell-based assays is preferred.
