Brain Imaging, Clinical Neuroscience, and Cognitive Neuroscience on Schizophrenia and Psychosis

The Department of Psychiatry, University of Maryland and the Maryland Psychiatric Research Center (MPRC) have one to two open positions for fellowship training on using multimodal brain imaging, brain stimulation, cognitive neuroscience, genetics and/or electrophysiology techniques to study the etiology of and treatment for psychosis-related disorders.

We have both NIMH T32 supported fellowship and NIH major research grant supported fellowship available.

MPRC is a leading research institution on schizophrenia and offers many opportunities to participate in large national and international studies on schizophrenia. Applicants with an interest in combining clinical and cognitive neuroscience with big data/machine learning methods in large-scale studies, or diffusion, functional or spectroscopy imaging or in electrophysiology, stress-related psychosomatics, in brain stimulation techniques such as TMS or TMS-ERP areas are encouraged. 

General educational activities will include internal courses on biological psychiatry, psychopathology, neuroimaging, genetics, journal clubs, meetings with invited outside senior researchers, grant writing workshops, and individualized career development.

Applicants are expected to hold an advance degree (M.D., Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D.) in psychology, neuroscience, psychiatry, computer science, medical physics, computational biology or related fields. This position is open to US and international scholars.
