Assistant/Associate Professor of Veterinary Physiology
The College of Natural Science & Mathematics Department of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Alaska Fairbanks seeks applicants for a tenure-track faculty position in veterinary physiology at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor.
The successful candidate will teach veterinary physiology. Additional contributions to support the DVM training program may include areas such as clinical sciences and infectious diseases, based upon expertise and interest.
University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) has formed a 2+2 articulated veterinary medical training program with Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (CSUCVMBS). Students complete the first two years of the curriculum at UAF and attend CSU for years 3 and 4. Small class size allows for implementation of innovative teaching techniques. The candidate will join a team of faculty devoted to veterinary medicine and the One-Health mission, especially as it relates to Arctic health.
Research in physiology or related field is expected. Unique collaborative opportunities are available through UAF research centers and institutes, including the Institute of Arctic Biology, as well as CSU. Service responsibilities include serving on departmental committees, university committees, and outreach and public service. Opportunities exist for consulting with local veterinary practitioners.
