Scientific Researcher/Sr. Scientific Researcher, Molecular Biologist (Biomedical Imaging)


Description

The Department is a comprehensive imaging research facility that includes MRI, micro-CT (in vivo and ex vivo), ultrasound, PET/CT, and a range of in vivo optical imaging technologies.  The position will broadly focus on the development and validation of imaging reagents and methods aimed at providing structural and physiological endpoints for preclinical models of disease, and, in some cases, potential for clinical application.  This position provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to efforts across a range of imaging modalities within the department and therapeutic areas across Genentech’s Research portfolio.


Who You Are

We seek a highly motivated researcher with extensive experience in molecular, cellular and histological approaches that can leverage these skills to develop and validate in vivo imaging reagents/methods.  The qualified individual will possess the following:

  • Master's or PhD degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Bioengineering or related field, or a Bachelor's degree in the listed fields with at least 4 years of industry experience is required.
  • Extensive experience and expertise in molecular, cellular and histological methods is required.
  • A demonstrated record of success in developing/evaluating imaging methods/reagents is desired.
  • Practical experience with in vivo imaging techniques and/or microsurgery techniques is desired.
  • Background in Immunology, Neuroscience, Ophthalmology or Oncology is desired.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work well in a team environment is required.
