Postdoctoral Fellow
A Postdoctoral position is immediately available in the Cardiovascular Research Center at Temple University Lewis Katz School of Medicine. The post-doctoral fellow will be engaged in translational projects focused on mechanisms of cardiac diseases, as well as modulators of cardiac repair and regeneration, especially immune effectors. The fellow will use a broad range of approaches (genetic, cell biological and in vivo modeling) to understand how immune effectors, particularly neutrophils, cause damage after myocardial injury. The projects also examine how the immune microenvironment regulates cardiac repair and healing to targeted therapies. The fellow will utilize models of heart failure and cell cultures to validate novel therapeutic targets.
Qualifications: A Recent Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. in a relevant field. Background in cardiac cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry and immunology required. Experience with animal models of heart failure preferable. A track-record of publications and excellent written/verbal communication skills.
Fellows are expected to co-author manuscripts, collaborate with lab members, and contribute to the training and management of new lab recruits.
Please email CV, a personal statement describing specific interest in this position and the research project, your career goals, and contact info for three references to: sabri@temple.edu
