Postdoctoral Position in Neuroscience

Rutgers Brain Health Institute

A postdoctoral associate is sought with experience in rodent behavior or brain immunohistochemistry. This postdoc will work on research into brain substrates of depression in rat models, and developing a new approach to treat neuropsychiatric disorders involving circuits that regulate the brain locus coeruleus system. Research will use intravitreal injections, immunohistochemical analyses, as well as assays for depression-like behavior including forced swim, saccharin preference and saccharin demand. Join a leading neuroscience lab at Rutgers, with a strong record of post-doctoral mentorship and training, in an exciting new approach to therapies for depression and multiple other mental health disorders.  With over 250 neuroscience faculty labs engaged in basic, clinical and translational research, and proximity to New York, Princeton and Philadelphia neuroscience communities, Rutgers offers tremendous training and career growth opportunities.  Applicants must have a strong academic record of independent research with a PhD or MD degree. Expertise with rodent behavior or brain immunohistochemistry is required. Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, names of 3 references and a cover letter expressing their interest and qualifications to Gary Aston-Jones, Ph.D., Director, Brain Health Institute and Strongwater Endowed Chair in Neuroscience at bhidirector@ca.rutgers.edu
