POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOW

NOVEL PLATFORM TO IDENTIFY THERAPEUTIC ANTIBODIES

Janssen BioTherapeutics is seeking a highly motivated individual to develop a novel cell isolation platform to aid in the identification of therapeutic antibodies.

Many multi-span and multi-subunit cell surface receptors that reside in the cell membrane are important in cell signaling, and could be highly desirable therapeutic targets. However, owing to the inherent difficulties in translating these membrane-bound proteins into effective antigen preparations, identifying therapeutic antibodies against these targets has been an immense challenge. A robust method for antibody-independent cell sorting platform could greatly facilitate antibody therapeutics discovery for these desirable targets. The Postdoctoral Fellow will spearhead the development of a novel, antibody-independent cell isolation platform to enable antibody identification for complex membrane receptors.

At Janssen, postdoctoral fellows are trained by expert scientists working at the cutting edge of drug discovery. Janssen BioTherapeutics supports a wide range of therapeutic areas including Oncology, Neuroscience, Cardiovascular and Metabolism, Immunology, and Infectious Diseases. The successful candidate will learn from and contribute to an industry-leading drug discovery program that has brought numerous quality therapeutics to patients and significant contributions to human health. They will partner throughout the Janssen R&D organization and participate in cross-functional team discussions, gaining insight into many aspects of biotherapeutic discovery and development. The Postdoctoral Fellow is expected to author papers on their research and present novel findings at scientific conferences.

Key Objective:

To develop a novel antibody-independent cell isolation platform to enable antibody identification for complex membrane receptors.
