Skeletal Biology Postdoctoral Fellow
A postdoctoral position will be available immediately in the joint laboratory of Dr. Ling Qin and Dr. Jaimo Ahn in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. Our group uses cutting edge histology, 3D imaging, and single cell sequencing techniques as well as compound animal models to investigate the molecular mechanisms by which hormones and growth factors regulate bone and cartilage metabolism and skeletal development. The position will have a special focus on stem cell biology to understand the features of mesenchymal stem cells at various skeletal sites and their roles in diseases and tissue regeneration. For more information about Qin/Ahn group and McKay Orthopaedic Research Laboratory, a dynamic and collaborative research environment, please visit https://www.med.upenn.edu/orl.
The candidate must be self-motivated, have strong background in standard molecular and biological techniques, cell culture and/or animal model, and have genuine interests in developing computational skills for single cell data and imaging analyses. Previous experience in bone biology is preferred but not required. The position requires the ability to lead projects and work cooperatively with others, carry out and troubleshoot experiments, and assist in grant and manuscript writing.
