The Role:

Curious about PRECISION MEDICINE , DIGITAL BIOTECH and NEXT GENERATION bioprocess development to create an innovative transformative class of medicines for patients?

JOIN US! Moderna is looking for bold and relentless bioprocess researchers to support the process development for our Personalized Cancer Vaccines program. In this position, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing and characterizing biochemical reactions and purification processes for mRNA vaccines. You will join a highly dynamic team of engineers and scientists with cross-functional interactions to Moderna's Automation, Analytical Development, Drug Substance and Drug Product Process Development teams.

Here's What You'll Do:
  • Develop and characterize next generation processes for personalized cancer vaccines
  • Develop and optimize biochemical processes using automated liquid handling stations (Tecan)
  • Implement and optimize analytical characterization methods (HPLC, calorimetric assays)
  • Collaborate with in vivo biology teams to advance understanding of critical quality attributes
  • Use Statistical Design-of-Experiments techniques to perform process characterization
  • Write and publish process development and characterization reports
  • Keep good documentation and maintain ELNs in an up-to-date fashion
  • Present your experimental results, study outcomes, etc. to the group as well as to a wider audience

Here's What You'll Bring to the Table:
  • Educational Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in on one of the following fields: Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemical or Biomedical Engineering or any related or sub-disciplines of the above.
  • Hands on experience with bioprocess workstations (AKTA/ Tecan/ Hamilton) and filtration systems (Tangential and Normal Flow, Depth, etc.)
  • Experience in developing and performing biochemical / biophysical or other analytical assays
  • Experience and interest in Quality by Design Initiatives for process characterization of biologics
  • Experience in analytical chromatography (HPLC/ UPLC) and electrophoretic analyses (gel or capillary)
