Postdoctoral Position in Molecular Immunology

A Postdoctoral Fellow position in Molecular Immunology is available in the laboratory of Dr. Kaushik Choudhuri at the University of Michigan Medical School, Ann Arbor, Michigan (https://medicine.umich.edu/dept/microbiology-immunology/kaushik-choudhuri-d-phil). Our group is broadly interested in the cell biology and molecular biophysics of alpha/beta and gamma/delta T cells, with a focus on signal transduction by endogenous and synthetic immunoreceptors (CAR-T cells). We use several high-resolution imaging methods including super-resolution fluorescence imaging and electron microscopy, along with biochemical, genetic, and immunological assays. We are also developing animal models to test basic mechanisms of T cell function in vivo. Several well-developed NIH-funded projects are available covering a wide range of T cell biology, which can be further tailored to accommodate the research interests and strengths of the Fellow. The successful candidate will have at least one first author publication in the area of T cell biology and/or molecular immunology, strong molecular biology skills, experience in common immunological assays, and be interested in and willing to master molecular imaging and biophysical techniques. A strong interest and background in lymphocyte immunology along with a commitment to self-motivated independent learning is essential for success in this position.

The department of Microbiology & Immunology offers a collegial and collaborative research environment, with state-of-the-art facilities, and many formal and informal opportunities for trainees’ professional development.  The Medical School ranks among the Nation's top research institutions, and is situated in the University of Michigan Medical Campus, walking distance to downtown Ann Arbor.

Interested candidates should send a cover letter including details of past research, current research interests and state why they are interested in T cell immunology and the Choudhuri Lab, along with a full curriculum vitae (including three references) to kchoud@med.umich.edu (please enter POSTDOC only in the reference line of the email message).
