The Kohan Lab, in the Department of Nutritional Sciences at the University of Connecticut, is seeking highly motivated and self-sufficient candidates to apply for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position in our basic and translational immunometabolism laboratory. The Kohan Lab studies the role of the intestine, its lipoproteins, and its immune cells in cardio-metabolic disease. This Postdoctoral Research Associate will work under the guidance of Dr. Kohan on a federally funded research project focused on the role of lipoproteins in tolerogenic immune cells and IBD. Therefore, a strong background in biochemistry, metabolism, immunology, or inflammatory disease is preferred. The position will involve the use of mouse models, and primary mouse and human organoids. The Kohan Lab enthusiastically respects work-life balance, especially parenthood and other high-intensity life experiences, and encourages our fellows to be well-equipped for a career within and outside of traditional academic positions.
