Postdoctoral Fellowship in Departments of Pathology, Chemical Biology & Therapeutics

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

Memphis, TN

The Mullighan Laboratory in the Department of Pathology at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is searching for an exceptional candidate for a supported postdoctoral fellowship in leukemia modeling and chemical biology.

The selected candidate will have the opportunity to help lead research focused on protein degradation approaches in high-risk acute leukemia in a top-ranked, close-knit scientific environment.

The project is highly collaborative and synergistic between the Mullighan Lab, a leader in genomic analysis and biology of acute leukemia, and the Chemical Biology & Therapeutics Department. The project, which is supported by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, will design, synthesize and evaluate activity and efficacy of PROTACs directed against leukemogenic driver alterations in high risk leukemia. The project will involve intensive chemical biology coupled with rigorous experimental modeling in cell line, engineered and in vivo patient-derived xenograft preclinical models of leukemia.

The Mullighan Lab offers an exceptional training environment with exposure to leukemia genomics, experimental modeling using biochemical, cellular and in vivo systems, and translational therapeutics. St. Jude is consistently named one of the “100 Best Companies to Work” by Fortune magazine, and it offers highly competitive benefits and professional development. The hospital is located in the friendly, vibrant city of Memphis, Tenn.

Candidates with strong small molecule and organic chemistry synthesis experience are encouraged to apply. Experience with biochemical and cell assays is preferred. Successful applicants will have a strong record of achievement, excellent communication skills and a PhD, MD, or equivalent degree in chemical biology or a related field.  Interested applicants should apply for the job at https://bit.ly/2I1pOYv
