Postdoctoral fellowship at NYU in Innate and Adaptive Immune Responses

At New York University School of Medicine, we are seeking a postdoctoral fellow for a funded project to investigate regulation of innate and adaptive immune responses by the extracellular matrix (ECM). Our pioneering work shows that lumican, a structural collagen-binding protein, has novel functions in neutrophil and macrophage migration, and toll-like receptor mediated innate immune responses. These studies are laying the groundwork for an understanding of the ECM in infection, inflammation and autoimmunity. Other related proteins, biglycan, decorin and fibromodulin are also being investigated in host immune responses. The candidate will be expected to investigate underlying mechanisms in ECM-immune cell interactions using mouse and cell culture models. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in molecular biology immunology and cell biology with expertise in flow cytometry and be able to work independently and in a collaborative setting.

Our laboratory in Alexandria Life Sciences West Tower is located in a beautiful new building, adjacent to microbiology and immunology laboratories. NYU Langone Health is a thriving, vibrant institution in exciting Manhattan! We have a dynamic interactive group and collaborations with Cell Biology, Microbiology and Pathology.
