Position Summary

Postdoctoral fellowship position in cancer immunology/immunotherapy is available in the laboratory of Dr. Peter P. Lee, Billy Wilder Endowed Professor and Chair, Dept. of Immuno-Oncology at the Beckman Research Institute. The Beckman Research Institute is an innovative biomedical research, treatment and educational institution, and a designated Comprehensive Cancer Center by the National Cancer Institute. The City of Hope's Beckman Research Institute provides an environment that encourages interdisciplinary collaboration.

The focus of the project is on developing a novel acoustic ultrasound technology to selectively kill cancer cells, and to combine this with immunotherapy. This project is a close collaboration with engineering and chemistry faculty at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). The project involves animal cancer models, cell culture, and immunology using state-of-the-art technologies including 14-18 color flow cytometry, spectral imaging histology, and next generation sequencing.

Nestled in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains, City of Hope is in a serene community in which to live and work. The subtropical and semi-arid climate offers year-round outdoor activity. An hour's drive in different directions can take you to ocean beaches, snow skiing, or desert camping. It is close enough to take advantage of the benefits of city life, but far enough to enjoy living in a peaceful environment.

Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:

• A Ph.D. degree in life or biomedical sciences, or a related discipline is required.
