Position Summary

Li Lab from Department of Hematological Malignancies Translational Science of The Hematologic Malignancies and Stem Cell Transplantation Institute are seeking a Research Associate I to work on our leukemia research and stem cell research team. The individual will be a part of Department of Hematological Malignancies Translational Science and Gehr leukemia center. The RAI will assist with laboratory procedures involving molecular cloning, hematopoietic stem cells culture, immunoassays and other research tasks, as needed.

Key Responsibilities include:

Under general supervision of the Principal Investigator, or designee, the Research Associate I (RAI) assists the work of a laboratory or undertakes research projects in collaboration with academic supervisor, making innovative contributions pertaining to laboratory procedures which should not change the course of an investigation. RAI typically consults with the academic supervisor on the scope and plan of approach to a research project; organize and plan techniques; plan and assign the work of at least one lab staff advising on problems they are unable to solve; standardize new techniques and train staff on these techniques; perform specialized procedures and prepare written reports of laboratory experimental methods.

Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:

• Minimum Education and Skills Required for Consideration: Bachelor's degree in biological sciences.
• Experience in molecular cell biology and tissue culture is required

Preferred education experience and skills:

• Molecular Biology and Adult Stem Cell Biology, preferred.
• Other laboratory skills are a plus, but not essential, since we will provide a training environment for a motivated, enthusiastic and dedicated candidate.
