The Role:

The Sr. Director, Human Resources Business Partner will be responsible for establishing and maintaining effective relationships in support of our G&A functions, including Finance, Legal, HR, Business Development, Corporate Strategy, Corporate Affairs and Digital while ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of key Human Resources projects and objectives. The individual possesses a track record of successfully partnering with the executive level G&A team, including the CEO, CFO and General Counsel, to build capability and maintain effective teams. The primary purpose of this role is to partner with the relevant leadership teams to deliver against the business and people growth objectives, promoting a high-performance culture.

The Sr. Director, Human Resources Business Partner will also work collaboratively with the Human Resources team and other subject matter experts to align practices and initiatives with the Company's strategic and operational goals. This Business Partner will have a secondary role and operate as the Business Partner operations lead, in partnership with the CPO, to lead some of Moderna's core people processes, drive integration and best practices across the team of Business Partners at Moderna.

Here's What You'll Do:
  • Provide strategic counsel to key functions and management in the areas of organizational effectiveness and development, employee relations, executive coaching and talent management
  • Provide support to the multiple G&A functions, working cross-functionally and assist staff at many levels in optimizing the performance of their teams and resolving issues
  • Contribute to creating solutions for best practice initiatives in such areas as employment, employee communication, talent and career development, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and HRIS delivery
  • Support continued growth and infrastructure by identifying talent gaps and development areas across the G&A functions and other areas as the business grows
  • Work closely with the CPO to drive business partner best practices and integrated approaches to talent development, succession planning, career laddering, performance management and other areas that require a unified approach
  • Ensure system workflows and communication is efficiently executed across key functions

Here's What You'll Bring to the Table:
  • Prior experience working in the technology, biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical industry is required
  • Prior experience with G&A teams, including organizational design/effectiveness, team building, performance management, career coaching and manager training
  • 12+ years progressive Human Resources experience in employee relations, talent management, compensation & benefits, performance management, recruiting, and training
  • Experience leading or participating in enterprise wide initiatives in a fast growth environment is required, including skill in partnering with other members of the HR team and the executive team to drive corporate goals
  • Bachelor's degree required
