Adaptive Immunity Faculty Position
The Department of Microbial Infection and Immunity (https://medicine.osu.edu/mii/Pages/index.aspx) in The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, College of Medicine solicits applications for several tenure-track faculty positions at all levels in the area of adaptive immunity. Candidates should have an MD, MD/Ph.D. or Ph.D., postdoctoral experience, documented evidence of high-quality, impactful research, and a strong commitment to education and research at a major university. Preference will be given to individuals with research programs focused on mucosal adaptive immunity in the respiratory or GI tract. Expertise in vaccine strategies, B-cell immunology, and programs investigating immunity to biomedically-relevant pathogens is highly desirable.
Current strengths of the Department include innate immunity, mucosal pathogens, intracellular parasitism, neuro-immunology, and T-cell immunology. The Department has outstanding facilities and support, including a vibrant collaborative research community, an open laboratory environment that promotes interactions, and state-of-the-art core facilities. The Department is closely affiliated with the Infectious Disease Institute (https://idi.osu.edu/), whose mission is to generate solutions to the detrimental effect of microbes on the health of humans, animals, plants, and the environment. The Department has strong affiliations with other OSU Institutes and Centers (https://oaa.osu.edu/centers-and-institutes), including the newly formed Institute for Immuno-Oncology.
The successful applicant will be expected to develop and maintain an extramurally funded research program, perform cooperative research with others, and participate in graduate and medical student education. Faculty will be provided with a competitive salary and start-up-package.
