Academic Basic Science Researcher

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC) along with The Division of General and Gastrointestinal Surgery within the Department of Surgery is recruiting an open rank faculty member with basic science research focus on Metabolic Syndrome and Metabolic Surgery. Expertise in microbiome is a plus with an expectation for extramural funding as well as teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and graduate students.  Candidates will serve as principal investigator and co-investigator on research projects, participate in establishing an active program in the field of Metabolic Syndrome and Metabolic Surgery; design research projects and write grant proposals, and collaborate with other investigators in the OSU Diabetes and Metabolism Research Center (DMRC).   Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in an applicable field and must have credentials to receive a faculty appointment at The Ohio State University. This position is full time and will be based at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.  The position offers the potential for growth and offers a competitive salary and benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in an applicable field
  • Academic experience a plus
  • Qualify for academic appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Professor level – Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with previous training and experience
