Dr. Leah Cook in the Department of Pathology & Microbiology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to conduct and coordinate research activities in a high paced laboratory that is studying mechanisms of neutrophils in progression and chemo-resistance of pancreatic and prostate cancer and exploration of novel therapeutic targets and strategies. The successful candidate will develop and implement tests, methods and procedures; perform research using mouse models, cell culture and cloning techniques; analyze and review findings; and provide recommendations relevant to the continuation and successful completion of the project(s) and the laboratory. Provides research oversight towards graduate student projects. Candidates should hold a Ph.D. degree in cancer, biology, molecular biology, or related scientific field, which has been awarded within 3 years of application, and experience in research laboratory setting, including animal models. Preferred experience in cancer research and immunology research experience with a knowledge of the development of novel therapeutics with a knowledge of recombinant DNA technology and flow cytometry, as well as demonstrated scholarly activity.
