Cellular and Molecular Physiology


The Department of Cellular and Molecular Physiology at the Penn State College of Medicine invites applications from outstanding Ph.D. and/or M.D. scientists for a Tenure-Track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The Department has undergone a major expansion within the thriving new research environment of the College of Medicine and the renowned Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, located in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The Department has strong accomplishments in broad areas of cellular, molecular, and integrative approaches toward translational research. The search is open to applicants in many areas of research including, but not limited to, those studying molecular mechanisms of cellular metabolism and signaling, redox signaling and mitochondrial function, ion channel function, and changes in contractile and structural proteins in disease states. We are seeking early-stage or recently established investigators with strong records of research accomplishment who will complement and expand departmental research interests in cancer, metabolic disorders, aging, and diseases involving cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, or renal remodeling. Applications are also welcome from those wishing to develop and lead research within our new cryo-EM center in the College of Medicine. The Department enjoys strong interactions with the Penn State Cancer Institute, the Heart and Vascular Institute, the Institute for Personalized Medicine, and the NIH-supported Clinical and Translational Science Institute within the Penn State College of Medicine.
