One postdoctoral scholar in molecular and structural biology is available in the laboratory of Wei-Jen Tang (https://benmay.uchicago.edu/faculty/tang). Applicants must have a very recent Ph.D. or equivalent degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, or biophysics and have mastered basic molecular and cell biology techniques. Experience with protein crystallography or macromolecular microscopy is desirable. We seek the highly motivated postdoctoral fellows with excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a research team to investigate structures and functions of human proteins/protein complexes that are relevant to human diseases, which include, but not limited to, diabetes, Alzheimer's disease, and inflammation, and to develop effective therapeutic strategies. We are particularly interested in human proteases and cytokines and have applied the integrative structural and functional approaches to interrogate how human insulin degrading enzyme and CC chemokines work at the molecular level. Applicants should submit curriculum vitae, a cover letter stating research interests and career goals, and names and contact information of three references.
