Associate Director, Corporate Talent Acquisition and Executive Search

The Role:

This new leadership role is an exciting opportunity to shape the leadership talent engine fueling a high-growth organization that is radically changing the biotech industry. As Moderna continues to grow, we need a seasoned and ambitious Associate Director who can bring their creativity and energy to be responsible for key executive searches and corporate recruiting. As we grow, Moderna will need to continue to fill critical roles at both the leadership level and across all levels of G&A. This would include Finance, Accounting, Strategy, Legal, Communications, Business Development, C-Suite, and other ad-hoc groups, as needed. This role will interact regularly with Moderna's Executive Committee, and as a member of the TA Leadership Team, will act as coverage, as needed, for the Head of Talent Acquisition.

This role is a fantastic way to grow into Talent Acquisition leadership and have broad visibility and responsibility. We work as a team, we believe in striving for excellence, and we are relentless in our pursuit of the best talent in the industry.

Here's What You'll Do:
  • Own executive searches and G&A recruitment, leading anywhere from 10-15 searches at all levels and treating each role with equal importance (from entry/mid-level through executive).
  • Act as an internal SME and consultant around executive/corporate search, and provide in-depth recruiting strategies, candidate summaries/assessments, tracking metrics, and market intelligence to hiring leaders.
  • Bring fresh external best practices, technologies and innovation to how Moderna assesses and selects talent, especially leadership positions.
  • You are a tenacious hunter of talent with deep sourcing and market research skills. No stone goes unturned!
  • Help lead and facilitate team meetings and propose new ways to bring a spirit of continuous learning into the Talent Acquisition team.
  • Assist in reporting on key recruiting metrics utilizing Workday or other digital systems.
  • Develop strong partnerships with Moderna HR Business Partners and Total Rewards teams.
  • Be BOLD and RELENTLESS in creating new ideas to identify, engage, attract, and assess talent into Moderna. You don't take 'no' for an answer and you see a solution for the biggest of challenges.

Here's What You'll Bring to the Table:
  • A minimum of 8+ years of progressive experience as an in-house corporate/executive (VP and above) recruiter in a high-growth biotech environment. Experience in external executive search also helpful.
  • Demonstrated commitment to being seen as a true 'talent advisor' to the business and leader of people.
  • Extraordinary sourcing skills and experience assessing talent, writing candidate summaries (telling their story) and using data and metrics to report progress and bottlenecks.
  • A deep interest in the candidate/employee experience and a passion for articulating a differentiated employer brand to the marketplace.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills - you are outgoing, communicative, and seek to build relationships daily.
  • You drive for results and set a high bar for yourself and others.
  • A natural ability to be highly organized in how you think, communicate and conduct your work.
  • A 'digital first' mentally - leveraging data and technology to make work seamless and insightful.
  • A curious mindset that allows you to constantly learn and challenge the status quo. A desire to learn and develop as a leader and yearning to improve as you grow.
  • Great pride and urgency in your work - you recruit because you love it and enjoy having an impact on the growth of the Company
  • Respect for others and a desire to work as a team and lead/mentor others. We win together.
  • A desire to be part of a high-growth, transformational company that is Bold, Relentless, Curious, and Collaborative.
  • Strong experience using an integrated HRIS/ATS system (we use Workday), strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Here's What We'll Bring to the Table:
  • Daily on-site catered lunches
  • Company-provided iPhone
  • Free parking, monthly subway pass or a subsidized commuter rail pass
  • Free annual corporate membership to Bluebikes

  • 20 weeks 100% paid medical leave
  • Adoption assistance and discounts to local childcare centers, as well as access to care.com
  • 401k (traditional and Roth offered) with 50% match on first 6% deferred. Match is vested immediately
  • A suite of Moderna paid insurance coverage, including: life insurance, short-term and long-term disability
  • Voluntary legal assistance plan
  • 15 days' vacation, 2 floating holidays, 7 sick days per year, in addition to a discretionary winter shut down and 11 company paid holidays
