We are seeking a postdoctoral fellow in the area of bioanalytical sample preparation for the development of a test that is simple enough for users to test themselves for diagnosing HIV and detecting treatment failure. Therefore, infected patients can learn their HIV status via increased access to testing. The successful candidate will interact within an interdisciplinary group of engineers, clinicians, and scientists involved in molecular diagnostics, materials science, polymer chemistry, device design, and bioconjugation. Experience with infectious disease diagnostics, blood samples, nucleic acid amplification test, and paper diagnostics is highly desired. The candidate will be expected to have strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work in a team, generate publications, contribute to grants and progress reports, and maintain meticulous records is required.
Interested candidates should forward their research interests, curriculum vitae along with the name and contact information of three referees to James Lai, at jilai@uw.edu.
