Core Director of the Laboratory for

Molecular Biology and Cytometry Research

The office of the Vice-President of Research at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center seeks applicants for the position of Director of Laboratory for Molecular Biology and Cytometry Research (LMBCR). The LMBCR is a centralized core facility and provides key services in genomics, proteomics, cytometry, and cell imaging to members of the OUHSC research community.

The successful applicant will oversee LMBCR operations including, assessing core impact and need for new technologies, hiring and management of personnel, planning of budget and usage fee structure, serving as PI on instrument related grants, and working with university offices to ensure best practices for biosafety, information security and financial compliance. The LMBCR Director will work closely with researchers to develop proposals and manuscripts that require LMBCR expertise and/or services.  The LMBCR Director will be appointed at the assistant or associate professor level with an academic appointment in a basic science department in the OU College of Medicine.

Successful applicants will hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree, in a biomedical-related field with laboratory experience, the ability to work independently and to manage both technical and administrative aspects of multiple research related projects, experience with management of grant funds, management of personnel, and knowledge of technology and applications related to omics and cytometry related research.
