Description: A postdoctoral researcher position in the field of linear and nonlinear light-matter interactions in complex photonic media (experimental).
Project Description: Applications are invited for an open postdoctoral researcher position in Nanophotonics and Nonlinear Optics Group led by Prof. Natalia Litchinitser in the ECE Department at Duke University in the area of light-matter interactions in complex media. Qualified candidates should have a Ph.D. in physics, applied physics, optics, electrical engineering or related areas with an outstanding research record and strong experience in experimental optics and nanofabrication (an additional experience in theory and numerical modeling is a plus). The position is initially for 1 year (performance evaluation and renewal each year). The ideal start date is July 1, 2019. The initial salary range is in the range of $55,000-$60,000 (depending on prior research experience).
Our research is focused on linear and nonlinear light-matter interactions in optical metamaterials and quasicrystals, orbital angular momentum beams transmission in engineered colloidal media, topological photonics and supersymmetry in optics.
