The Department of Pharmacology & Experimental Therapeutics (http://www.bumc.bu.edu/busm-pm) is seeking two new faculty members at the assistant or associate professor levels with innovative programs in cancer research. Research programs must have relevance to prostate cancer, whether via the underlying basic science of cancer biology, the discovery of new therapeutic strategies, or focused on target identification and biomarker discovery. All approaches will be considered including small molecule, protein, nucleic acid, viral or nanotechnology oriented technologies. Scientists with proven research excellence and productivity are encouraged to apply. The Department is ranked #12 in NIH grant support nationally and has strengths in the basic sciences of cellular, molecular and systems pharmacology with the goal of discovering and developing novel and transformational therapeutic modalities. The Department houses 23 faculty members in neuro, cardio, and cancer research interests and administers an interdisciplinary university-wide training program in BioMolecular Pharmacology that is supported by an NIGMS T32. The incumbent will also be a skilled lecturer who is committed to the teaching of medical, dental, and predoctoral students.
