Virginia Merrill Bloedel Chair in Basic Hearing Science

The University of Washington Virginia Merrill Bloedel Hearing Research Center (VMBHRC) and the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery are seeking candidates for a full-time tenured and endowed position as the Virginia Merrill Bloedel Chair in Basic Hearing Science.  The position represents one of the two endowed chairs within the Bloedel Center, an interdisciplinary University-wide facility supporting basic, applied, and translational hearing research from molecules to behavior.  The position seeks an accomplished auditory or vestibular scientist at the associate professor or professor rank.

Laboratory space is available in the Virginia Merrill Bloedel Hearing Research Center.  Joint appointments are available in a variety of other departments across the University of Washington. Qualifications

The applicant must have an MD or PhD and a strong track record of funded biological research and mentoring.  Enthusiasm for training residents in basic science as well as graduate students and postdoctoral fellows is highly desirable.
