The University of Hawaii Cancer Center (UHCC; an NCI Designated Cancer Center) is seeking a highly motivated junior investigator with research focused on T cell immunology and/or cancer immunotherapy for a tenure track position in the Cancer Biology Program (position #0088357). Applicants are sought at the Assistant Professor (Researcher) level; however, exceptionally strong candidates will be considered at the Associate Professor (Researcher) level. Qualified candidates will have an innovative research program in T cell immunology and/or cancer immunotherapy supported by an extensive high impact publication record. Applicants are further expected to have broad, multidisciplinary expertise across many aspects of immunology and oncology. In addition, candidates at the Associate Professor level are expected to have federal peer-reviewed funding and to be prepared to provide exceptional scientific leadership in T cell immunology and/or immunotherapy. UHCC provides highly competitive recruitment packages including laboratory space in the beautiful new Cancer Center building, start-up funding, and salary. Among the many core facilities and equipment available are ones supporting Flow Cytometry,Genomics and Bioinformatics, Single Cell Genomics, Metabolomics, and Microscopy. Opportunities and infrastructure are also available for translational research. The successful candidate will join a team of diverse and dynamic researchers devoted to ground breaking research into the underlying mechanisms driving cancer and to developing novel diagnostics and therapeutics for cancer. Qualifications:
- PhD, MD, or PhD/MD degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g. immunology, molecular biology,
cancer biology, molecular oncology)
- 3-5 years post-doctoral training in immuno-oncology, immunology, and/or oncology
- Track record of cutting-edge research with an outstanding record of scientific accomplishments
as evidenced by high impact publications in top-tier journals
- Demonstrated track record of cancer immunotherapy T cell focused research
- Associate Professor level candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in basic or
translational research either in an academic and/or industry setting and sustained federal
research funding
