The Department of Nutritional Sciences in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto invites applications for a tenure stream position in the area of Nutritional Sciences. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor and will commence on January 1, 2020 or shortly thereafter.

Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in Nutritional Sciences, or related discipline at the time of appointment. Candidates must provide evidence of research excellence of an internationally competitive caliber, as evidenced by publications in leading journals in the field, presentations at significant conferences, accolades or awards, and strong endorsements by referees of high international stature. 

Candidates must demonstrate teaching excellence at the university level. Evidence of excellence in teaching is demonstrated by a strong statement of teaching philosophy, teaching accomplishments, sample course syllabi, teaching evaluations, as well as strong letters of reference. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses at the undergraduate level in Nutritional Sciences and supervise graduate students. 

We seek candidates whose research and teaching interests complement and strengthen our existing departmental strengths. The research interests of the Department range from basic science to clinical investigation, population health and span four core research platforms: healthy human development and aging; nutrigenomics and personalized nutrition; chronic disease prevention and treatment; and nutrition, food and public policy, as profiled on http://nutrisci.med.utoronto.ca/research-activities. Preference will be given to applicants who plan to conduct their work using innovative basic science approaches. 

Salary for this position will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
