Qingdao Agricultural University (QAU) was established in 1951, and offers programs in eight disciplines including Agricultural Science, Engineering, Natural Science, Economics, Management, Literature, Art, and Law in her 24 colleges/departments, 77 undergraduate majors, 14 first-level disciplines of postgraduate programs and 4 professional postgraduate programs. QAU is home to 8 Shandong Key Disciplines, among which the Aquatic Sciences is QAU’s first-class discipline in Shandong, and her Botanical Science, Animal Science, and Agricultural Science have entered the top 1% of the ESI.

In 2012, QAU was selected by "Shandong Provincial Project of Prestigious University with Special Features" to be one of the first groups of institutions enjoying priorities of the development investment. In 2017, QAU was listed as a Level A university in Shandong doctoral institutions. In 2018, QAU was listed as an institution enjoying development investment on building first-class disciplines in Shandong. At present, QAU has a total number of 1969 full-time faculty members, among whom 951 have senior academic titles and 987 are PhD holders. Moreover, there are more than 170 High-Level Talents at or above the Provincial Level.

To further strengthen the discipline construction, to improve the quality of talent training and scientific research, and to provide talent support and guarantee for the lead-forward development of QAU, we are currently recruiting outstanding talents both at home and abroad.

Compensation and Benefits

1.Candidates playing a leading role in his/her discipline

For academicians (including senior scholars in humanities and social sciences) or talents at the similar level from abroad: QAU will offer package benefits in a “One case, one policy” manner based upon particular circumstances.   

For distinguished professors or chair professors of the Changjiang Scholars Program, and receivers of the National Science Funds for Distinguished Young Scholars: QAU will provide a total amount of 3 million RMB covering allowances on housing and family settlement. The maximum annual salary is 1.2 million RMB before tax.

For candidates who are chief scientists of the National Key Research and Development Programs (the former 973 Programs, 863 Programs, and Major Scientific Research Programs), major projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, major projects of the National For social sciences, the national public welfare industry or chief scientists equivalent to those of above-mentioned science and technology programs, QAU will provide a total amount of 3 million RMB covering allowances of housing and family settlement. The maximum annual salary is 0.8 million RMB before tax.

As to receivers of the National Distinguished Youth of Science Funds, QAU will provide a total amount of 1.5 million RMB covering allowances of housing and family settlement. The maximum annual salary is 0.5 million RMB before tax.

For the above-mentioned circumstances of talent recruitment, QAU will offer support in laboratory construction, scientific research start-up funds and equipment and facilities purchasing fees as appropriate.

2.Candidates playing a leading role in the academic fields

For candidates belonging to the urgently need talents in the provincial and ministerial level: QAU will provide a total amount of 1.2 million RMB covering allowances of housing and family settlement,  and will offer an amount of 1.5-3 million RMB in laboratory construction, scientific research start-up funds and equipment and facilities purchasing.

3.Young Talents

For the third, the fourth, the fifth, and the sixth level talents, QAU will provide a total amount of 0.8 million RMB, 0.5 million RMB, 0.3 million RMB, and 0.1 million RMB respectively covering allowances of housing and family settlement, and will offer an amount of 1 million RMB, 0.5 million RMB, 0.1 million RMB and 60 thousand RMB respectively in laboratory construction, scientific research start-up funds and equipment and facilities purchasing. For candidates in the areas of humanities and social sciences, QAU will offer an amount of 0.2 million RMB, 0.1 million RMB, 50 thousand RMB and 60 thousand RMB respectively in laboratory construction, scientific research start-up funds and equipment and facilities purchasing. QAU will offer another 0.1 million RMB covering allowances of family settlement for PhD holders of urgently needed majors and talents in the sixth level disciplines.  

Scientific Research Awards

According to QAU regulations, candidates who have published academic papers on Nature, Science, or Cell will be awarded 1 million RMB per paper. Candidates will be awarded 50 thousand RMB for academic papers collected in Section I of SCI, 25 thousand RMB for academic papers collected in Section II of SCI, 8 thousand RMB for academic papers collected in Section III of SCI, and 4 thousand RMB for academic papers collected in Section IV of SCI.

Housing

The Talent Apartments can be bought by candidates in sequence of personal performance level.

Other Compensation and Benefits

PhD holders who are employed in Qingdao for the first time are entitled to the house allowance, 1200 RMB per month, for three years in a row, granted by the Qingdao municipal government. PhD holders who are officially employed and get the registered permanent residence in Qingdao within 6 months after they finish their post-doctoral research are entitled to the allowance for family settlement, totally 250,000 RMB, granted by the Qingdao municipal government. PhD holders who buy their first commodity apartments in Qingdao are entitled to the allowance for family settlement, totally 150,000 RMB, granted by the Qingdao municipal government.

Regarding the introduction of urgently needed talents or special talents, “One case, One policy” can be adopted to decide their compensation and benefits.
