The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, College of Science and College of Medicine at the University of Arizona, is seeking an outstanding teacher/scholar/administrator for a full-time position as Head of the Department. Successful candidates are required to have a PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related field; current rank of professor; experience in academic leadership in higher education in an environment with diverse students, staff members, and colleagues; excellent record in research and scholarship; and proven experience in teaching and academic service. 

The search committee will start to review applications on June 15, 2019 and will continue until the position is filled. Applications should include: cover letter articulating experience, qualifications and vision for the position; detailed statement of research impact and directions; statement of leadership philosophy and experience; statement detailing skills, experience and/or willingness to engage in activities that would enhance departmental diversity and equity efforts; and a list of at least 5 potential reference letter writers.
