Stem Cell Transplant Immunology Lab – Damiano Rondelli, MD

A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Damiano Rondelli, in the Division of Hematology/Oncology, Department of Medicine, University of Illinois at Chicago.  The lab is focused on translational research addressing mechanisms of interaction between hematopoietic stem cells and alloreactive T cells upon transplantation. A xenograft model of co-transplantation of hematopoietic CD34+ cells and T cells was recently developed in the lab and is being tested to study how different immunosuppressive molecules can favor the stem cell engraftment in a non-compatible HLA setting. In our studies we employ in-vivo (NSG mouse model) and in-vitro molecular and cellular approaches, combined with flow cytometry and imaging technologies.

Candidates with the following qualifications are encouraged to apply: 1) strong self-motivation, 2) first author publications, 3) ability to plan, organize and meet deadlines, 4) good communication skills (writing and oral) and ability to collaborate with others, 5) experiences in cell culture, flow cytometry, T cell immune function assays, ELISA. Previous experience with mouse models is preferred but not a must. To apply, please send your cover letter, CV and the contact information for three references to Damiano Rondelli, MD [  and ].
