The Role:

Moderna is seeking a Manager, Production Coordination, Preclinical operations. This role is based in Norwood, MA and will report to the Director of Preclinical Manufacturing. The Manager, Production Coordination will provide production planning support to the manufacturing team and assist operations managers with evaluating customer requests and providing production analytics. This role will serve as a primary point of contact for customer relations, monitoring manufacturing production demand & supply, managing budgets and project management associated with production. This role supports Preclinical Manufacturing to achieve departmental goals and coordinate with business partners throughout the company.

Here's What You'll Do:
  • Single point of contact for customer relations
  • Responsible for production analytics and KPIs
  • Track and data mine Preclinical metrics to meet the safety, quality, compliance and production goals.
  • Manage budgets and vendor relations for professional services.
  • Create reporting schedule to reviews hourly, daily and weekly production rates against schedule.
  • Provide daily updates to Manufacturing Director on production status and customer relations.
  • Work with other departments, leads, trainers and engineers to resolve issues and assist in investigations.
  • Follow appropriate safety practices.
  • Engage with others in a positive and constructive manner that is conducive to good teamwork in a production environment.
  • Assist in development of SOP's, other control processes and practices.
  • Promote inter- and intra-departmental communication to facilitate and maximize performance.
  • Adhere to documented procedures and regulations.

Here's What You'll Bring to the Table:
  • BS/BA degree with 8+ years of experience in Manufacturing Project Management, Customer Relations or Supply Chain; Master's with 5+ years.
  • Preferred: Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
  • Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills required, with demonstrated leadership experience and ability.
  • Must be able to work on multiple projects/tasks. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail is required.
  • Proven track record of success in a fast-paced operation at a biotech/pharmaceutical company preferably in GMP or GLP environment
  • Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office, internet, email). Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio. Experience using JMP or Minitab.
  • Ability to autonomously investigate and analyze raw data, and extrapolate conclusions is required.
  • Applied statistics, including hypothesis testing and monitoring/control strategies preferred.
  • Experience with Lean/Six Sigma is a plus.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations. Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Leadership ability and ability to motivate people.
  • Be primarily based on a specific shift but maintain ability to support other shifts on a temporary basis as needed.
  • Proven track record of success in a fast-paced operation at a biotech/pharmaceutical company preferably in GMP or GLP environment
  • Customer focused attitude
  • Aptitude to collaborate with peers, supervisors and cross functional support groups required
