The appointment will be on UCL Grade 7/8. The salary range will be Grade 7: £39,353 - £42,701 per annum; Grade 8: £43,884 - £51,769 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.

The Department of Electronic & Electrical Engineering (EEE) at UCL is recognised as one of the leading Departments for research in its subject area, worldwide. We are seeking to appoint a fixed term Lecturer in Electronic Engineering to cover the maternity leave of a member of staff.

The candidate will be expected to contribute to a range of teaching within the department and the faculty including, but not limited to, teaching control systems at undergraduate level. The postholder will be expected to undertake world -class research in her / his area of research as well as performing the normal administrative duties expected on a member of academic staff as required by the Head of Department. These duties will include submitting publications regularly to high-profile refereed journals; participating in national and international conferences; research and postgraduate student teaching, project supervision and demonstrating; curriculum development; recruitment and selection of students; mentoring departmental staff as appropriate and promoting- both within and outside UCL - the work of EEE.

The post is a fixed-term position for one year and must start no later than the 1st October 2019, however it is hoped that the successful candidate would be in place well before the start of the first academic term in 2019. The start date is negotiable within these constraints and applications from candidates wishing to job share or work part-time are particularly welcome.

Applicants are required to have a PhD or equivalent qualification in control or systems engineering as well as being able to demonstrate a track record of publishing in international journals relevant to EEE. Experience of teaching in a university environment is essential and applicants should also be able to demonstrate a track record of presenting their work at leading international conferences relevant to EEE.

It is desirable that applicants have experience of teaching mathematically intensive courses to undergraduate students.

For appointment at Grade 8, applicants should have a strong record of attracting funding to support their research programme at the highest international level as well as as successful experience in supervision and management of active research staff.
