Research Assistant Professor (Faculty) and Postdoc Positions in  Vascular Biology and Lung Biology

Multiple scientist positions from Postdoctoral Fellow to Research Assistant Professor are open in the Program for Lung and Vascular Biology at Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. The program conducts leading interdisciplinary research in the field of lung and vascular biology focusing on the mechanisms of endothelial barrier dysfunction, endothelial regeneration and vascular repair, and resolution of inflammation in sepsis and acute lung injury (JCI 2006, JEM 2010, Circulation 2016), and the pathogenesis of pulmonary vascular remodeling and right heart failure in pulmonary hypertension (JCI 2009, Circulation 2016) employing cutting edge technologies such as single cell RNA-seq, genetic lineage tracing, genetic depletion, and nanoparticle-mediated in vivo genome editing. We also study how the pulmonary vascular niche regulates pulmonary fibrosis and lung regeneration.

Candidates must have (or expect to receive) a PhD, MD, or MD/PhD degree, and prior publications, and be self-motivated. Experience in cardiovascular biology and/or animal models are plus. Competitive salary and fringe benefits including potential tuition reduction, exceptional research environment, and outstanding mentorship for independent career development are available at Northwestern University. Position title and salary will commensurate with experience. Please send a CV, and a brief statement of research accomplishments (1-2 pages) to Dr. Youyang Zhao, W.G.
