DEPARTMENT OF PATHOLOGY
ASSISTANT, ASSOCIATE OR FULL PROFESSOR (University Tenure Line Professoriate)

The Stanford Department of Pathology announces our intent to recruit a scientist to join our faculty with a focus in basic or translational biomedical research. Areas of excellence in our Department include cancer biology, cell signaling, computational biology, genetics, immunology, infectious disease, neurobiology, and vascular biology. The successful candidate will have a strong track record and show exceptional promise to lead an independent laboratory; ideal candidates will be committed to collaboration with our clinical colleagues. The Department of Pathology interacts extensively with the Stanford Institute for Chemistry, Engineering & Medicine for Human Health, and we encourage candidates with shared interests to apply. The successful candidate may be appointed at the rank of assistant, associate or full professor, which will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the candidate.

The predominant criterion for appointment in the University Tenure Line is a major commitment to research and teaching, although often combined with limited clinical responsibilities.

Successful candidates will join the faculty in the Department of Pathology, which currently includes a Nobel Prize winner, multiple members of the National Academies of Sciences and Medicine, and many other investigators with national and international distinction. In addition to its outstanding research program, the Department of Pathology is responsible for over 3.8 million laboratory tests and 60,000 anatomic pathology specimens annually, with major expansions in out-patient and in-patient care scheduled for late 2019. Our department attracts and trains outstanding graduate students, residents, and fellows.

Candidates must have a PhD, MD, or MD/PhD. Applicants should submit their curriculum vitae, as well as a brief description of research accomplishments and plans for future scholarly work. These, along with the names of five references, should be submitted by 1 July 2019 to Dr. Thomas Montine, Chair of the Department of Pathology, via this link: https://apply.interfolio.com/62355

Stanford is an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. Stanford welcomes applications from all who would bring additional dimensions to the University's research, teaching and clinical missions.
