Professorship for Urology
The professorship encompasses the Direction (Chair) of the Department of Urology at the University Hospital Zurich and starts on August 1, 2021. Additional responsibilities include the promotion of clinical and translational research in urology, the development of an independent research program, teaching in the curriculum of human medicine, as well as coordination of the promotion of young scientists, specialist’s training and continuous education.
The Department of Urology belongs to the medical sector “Abdomen/Metabolism” of the University Hospital Zurich.
Applicants are required to have a board certification, a habilitation (or equivalent academic qualification), extensive clinical experience with a well-documented catalogue of operations in the field of urology. The successful candidate has an outstanding, internationally recognized record of accomplishment in the field of urology, supported by extra-mural research grants. Important qualifications for this position are an integrative personality, willingness to collaborate across disciplines, and a sense for pursuing overreaching goals. A flair for cultivating excellent relationships with external hospitals and referring physicians, as well as with local, national and international specialist associations is essential for this function.
Advanced spoken level of the German language is expected or should be acquired after taking this position to ensure optimal communication with patients.
