Shandong University, founded in 1901, is a key comprehensive university under the direct jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education with a long history, a variety of disciplines, strong academy, and distinctive educational development, which has a great influence both nationwide and worldwide. Shandong University is a member university of two national key establishments, Project 211 and Project 985, which are founded to support the development of high-quality universities. Shandong University is one of the initiative universities of modern Chinese higher education. In 2017, it was fist listed in "World-Class Universities and First-Class Disciplines" national list (List A).
The history of medical discipline of Shandong University can be traced back to 1864 when Tengchow Wen Hui Kuan was founded. It has experienced various historical stages of Shantung Union Medical College, Medical School of Cheeloo University, Shandong Medical College, Shandong Medical University and now, Shandong University Cheeloo College of Medicine (SDU CCOM) which has the honor of “Northern Union, Southern XiangYa, Eastern Cheeloo, Western West-China” (They are the four most famous medical colleges in China). Today, it plays an essential role in medical technology and educational field in China.
In recent years, SDU has leaped forward in its development, with remarkably enhanced overall strength and competitiveness. Sixteen disciplines of SDU rank among the top 1% in the ESI Ranking. SDU signed inter-school cooperation agreements with nearly 170 schools in more than 30 countries and regions.
SDU comprises eight campuses in three cities (Jinan, Qingdao, and Weihai). There are four affiliated hospitals directly under the university, which provide first-class medical and health care services for the staff. There are consistent affiliated primary and secondary schools and kindergartens to provide the best basic education for the children of teachers.

I. Positions and Qualifications
A. Top Talents
Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences or Academy of Engineering, distinguished scholars of the national level, and scholars at equivalent academic levels.
B. Young Global Experts
1. Young experts of Chang Jiang Scholars Program, Young Overseas High-level Talents Introduction Plan, Outstanding Youth Science Foundation Program, and The National Support Plans for the Top of the Notch Youth Talents.
2. Applicants qualified for the official interview of the above four programs have the priority to be recommended to apply for the programs for young talents in Shandong University.
C. Qilu Young Scholars Program of Shandong University
1. Overseas applicants are required to be assistant professors or higher-level academics in renowned universities or hold corresponding positions in research institutes. Those who have experience of long-term overseas academic training could also be considered.
2. Applicants should have strong academic potential and have already made significant achievements in their research fields.
D. Tenure-track Faculty for Research & Teaching
1. Research follow candidates should be an assistant professor or a postdoctoral research fellow from prestigious overseas universities or research institutes. 
2. Candidates for associate research fellow should be postdoctoral research fellows or doctoral graduates from prestigious overseas universities or research institutes.
E. Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Postdoctoral research fellows in Shandong University are divided into 3 types according to different funds: special funds, key funds and project funds. General requirements are as follows:
1. Applicants should be have doctoral degrees from prestigious domestic or overseas universities or research institutes within the past 3 years.
2. Have made outstanding research achievements during doctoral study.
3. A consecutive postdoctoral research period for no less than 21 months in Shandong University is required.
F. International Faculty & Faculty from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan
1. Abide by the constitution, laws and regulations of the People's Republic of China; respect the habits and customs of the nation.
2. Scientific-researchers and academic course-teaching lecturers should hold a doctoral degree and have related working experience. Assistant professors or professors of higher positions associated with prestigious universities and research institutes are preferred. Language-teaching lecturers should possess a minimum of 2 year's teaching experience at higher education institutes and bachelor's degree or above.

A. Top Talents
Benefits and supports for top talents are negotiable based on each case.
B. Young Global Experts
1. Academic title: Professor and doctoral student supervisor with special quotas for recruiting doctoral students.
2. Funds for research development: SDU provide about 2,000,000 to 3,000,000 RMB for discipline construction, excluding state funding.
3. Salary: The annual salary of high-level overseas young talents is not less than 600,000 RMB (including 100,000 RMB of COMM). The annual salary of the Young experts of Chang Jiang Scholars Program,, The National Support Plans for the Top of the Notch Youth Talents, Outstanding Youth Science Foundation Program, and SDU  Middle-aged and Young Scholars (the first level) is not less than 500,000 RMB (including 100,000 RMB of COMM). The annual salary of SDU Middle-aged and Young Scholars (the second level) is not less than 450,000 RMB (including 100,000 RMB of COMM).
4. Housing benefits: SDU provides about 500,000 RMB. The SDU Experts' apartments are available at preferential rent during the first two terms of appointment.
5. High-quality health care and on-campus schooling for children of the staff.
C. Program of Qilu Young Scholars of Shandong University
1. Academic title: Professor and doctoral supervisor.
2. Funds for research development: SDU will provide successful applicants in disciplines of Natural Sciences, Engineering or Technology with no less than 1 million RMB, and no less than 300,000 RMB for those in disciplines of Humanities and Social Sciences.
3. Salary: based on the pay packets of professors, the annual performance salary is 150,000 RMB.
4. Housing benefits: SDU will provide an allowance of 300,000 to 500,000 RMB. The SDU Experts' apartments are available at preferential rent during the first two terms of appointment.
5. High-quality health care and on-campus schooling for the children of successful applicants.
D. Tenure-track Faculty for Research & Teaching
1. Research funds of 60,000-200,000 RMB; 200,000-500,000 RMB for those who are selected in the "SDU Young Scholars Program";
2. Competitive salary and allowance (depending on contribution);

5. On-campus schooling for the children.
E. Postdoctoral Research Fellow
1. The annual salary of the special subsidy category is no less than 300,000 RMB, the annual salary of the key subsidy category is no less than 200,000 RMB, and the annual salary of the project subsidy category is no less than 180,000 RMB.
2. Social insurance and housing accumulation funds in China by the same standard of counterpat1 SDU teaching faculty are provided. Foreign postdoctoral research fellows are covered by commercial health insurance.
3. Apartments for postdoctoral research fellows near the university are available for rent.
4. High-quality health care and on-campus schooling for children of the successful applicants working full-time at SDU.
F. International Faculty & Faculty from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan
