About the School
Guilin University of Technology (GUT) is situated in the scenic international tourist city, Guilin. It is a comprehensive University with engineering as its main discipline while the other disciplines include science, management, literature, economies, law, and arts. The University covers a total area of more than 2,200,000 square meters (or 220 hectares) and is divided into four campuses, namely, the Pingfeng campus and Yanshan campus in Guilin, and the Anji campus and Konggang campus in Nanning.
GUT has 19 colleges and 7 departments offering 75 bachelor’s degree programs. It owns 2 postdoctoral research stations, 3 Tier-one disciplines authorized to confer Ph.D. degrees, 18 Tier-one disciplines authorized to confer Master’s degrees, and 9 professional degree programs (of which Master of Engineering has 11 professional fields). The University is qualified to recommend excellent undergraduates for further postgraduate study. GUT is home to over 34,000 students, including full-time undergraduates, and postgraduates. The University has a faculty of over 1700 full-time teachers, and the university is committed to the construction of a high-level teaching staff.
Besides providing remuneration, the University also offers special Talent Cultivation Program (Special professors, Top Talents, Pingfeng Scholars, and Postdoctoral Lecturers through selection or recommendation) for the introduced high-level talent candidates to apply for higher rate research projects, including national level and above provincial level projects.
